DC Industrial Scanning Systems (PTY) LTD was formed in January 1993 as a business to address all aspects of Automatic Identification in the Southern African Market. The prime objective was to consult to all sectors of the market, in Automatic Identification Applications, allowing the end-user and related suppliers to the end-user, to understand the technologies available, by supplying without prejudice and an unbiased point of view.

DCI Scanning's original business philosophy through end user demand changed from one of purely consulting to a combination of consulting; distribution & supply; warranty and Adhoc repair; and aftermarket support throughout Southern Africa. This came about from a code of business ethic highly maintained by DCI and joint partnerships with DCl's partner base.

DCI focused in on client's requirement and changed the image of the company to one that was more suitable to the market with focus on Distribution and support for our brand portfolio. DCI became a (PTY) LTD company early in 1995 and conforms to Articles of Association; ICASA certifications & South African Health Products Regulatory Authority; SARS Tax Compliance; and labour department requirements. DCI is fully audited by JZA Auditors PTY LTD for managing and maintaining all financial aspects of DCI and other companies, as well as for BBBEE criteria, with a BBBEE level-2 value added contribution certification.

DCI’s head office is situated in Alberton with a branch in Port Elizabeth and Cape Town. In addition, DCI has ongoing business relationships with several companies focused on vertical markets, such as system integrators; material handling consultants; point-of-sale suppliers; and automation companies. 95%of DCI’s business is carried out directly with the channel and value added partners and focuses on a channel centric ideology built on trust, knowledge and collaboration. These partners vary from single items to total system supply, incorporating all facets, including consulting; supply; installation; system integration; project management; service; and support.
